Maria Gushchina became Champion of the Far East Asia!

Between 17 and 22 September 2018, Pattaya in Thailand hosted the Far East Asia IPSC Handgun Championship 2018. Maria Gushchina gave a superb performance and beat all the shooters in the Production Division, winning the gold medal.

In total, 460 shooters from all over the world took part in the Far East Asia Championship, competing in 24 shooting stages. Shooters of the Česká zbrojovka a.s. Shooting Team performed extremely well in this competition.

Maria Gushchina achieved excellent results in the Production Division. With her CZ Shadow 2 pistol, she managed to beat 16 women and 123 men in the overall score, thus winning the gold medal and becoming the Far East Asia Champion. “It was great to return to the fantastic shooting range in Pattaya and once again take part in this highly challenging as well as interesting competition. I won this competition for the first time several years ago and even then, I longed to come back and repeat that performance again. My wish came true last weekend,” says Maria Gushchina, adding: “Winning wasn’t easy at all, as the competition was indeed very hard. The whole CZ Shooting Team, including me, felt under pressure due to the numerous metal targets. In addition, it was extremely hot and we had to grapple with the considerable time zone difference. But I won, I managed to leave all the men in my division behind and I am very happy now.” Maria is looking forward to the upcoming events and the new challenges they bring.

In the Standard Division, with 85 participating shooters, Zdeněk Liehne achieved bronze with his CZ 75 Tactical Sports Orange pistol.

Robin Šebo took part in the Open Division instead of his usual Production Division. He proved his worth in this division as well, coming fourth from 144 shooters. The same place went to Martina Šerá, who came fourth in the Open Lady Division. They both used the CZ 75 Tactical Sports Czechmate pistol.
