Česká zbrojovka supports the Chicago celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Czechoslovakia
On Friday, 28 September 2018, Chicago will host the Czech Centennial Gala in commemoration of 100 years of the foundation of the independent Czechoslovak Republic. Česká zbrojovka a.s. and its daughter company, CZ-USA, are the main platinum sponsors of the Gala as well as additional centennial celebrations organized by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago.
“We acknowledge the principles upon which the independent Czechoslovak Republic was built 100 years ago in many respects. Therefore, we are very proud to be able to support the various anniversary celebrations, above all, this particular centennial celebration in Chicago,” says Ladislav Britaňák, MBA, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Česká zbrojovka a.s.
This year is also an important year for CZ-USA, as twenty years ago, Česká zbrojovka found another home in Kansas, USA. What is more, 2018 is also a special anniversary for another company belonging to Česká zbrojovka’s American family, it is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Dan Wesson company.
Thanks to its strong automotive and aircraft divisions, as well as the manufacture of firearms, Česká zbrojovka is one of the largest exporters to the USA.
Apart from the Czech Centennial Gala, Chicago will see many other cultural events backed by Česká zbrojovka and CZ-USA take place for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the independent Czechoslovakia. To name just a few, the art exhibition Great Artists & Czech Patriots with Strong Chicago Connections shall present artworks by Alfons Mucha, Albín Polášek and Vojtěch Preissig. The “Czech Rock Lions” concert will welcome Jim Peterik and Petr Janda. Guests and compatriots can also visit the 79th Moravian Day. The grand finale of the celebrations will undoubtedly be a concert of the Czech Philharmonic, with their rendition of Antonín Dvořák’s World Symphony.
